Made of stone. Grown up in Scotland.

Made of stone. Grown up in Scotland.

"Are you all alone?
Are you made of stone?"

Another Lyle & Scott and Jonathan Saunders collaboration
just been launched at SS15 London Collections: Men.

The film features Lyle & Scott apparel in places and key British sportswear throughout, a fashion style synonymous with brand's heritage.
The Stone Roses: Made of stone.

Made of Stone. Grown up in Scotland.

Legendary band for legendary brand.
Lyle & Scott apparel featured in the film is a well-known British knitwear, what will be always associated with “This Is England” and the skinhead movement of the 80s.

«The original skinhead subculture started in the late 1960s, and had heavy British mod and Jamaican rude boy influences — including an appreciation for the black music genres ska, soul music and early reggae. The identity of skinheads in the 1960s was neither based on white power nor neo-fascism, but some skinheads had engaged in "gay-bashing", "hippie-bashing" and/or "Paki bashing"».

«Skinheads are visually identified by their short hair and unique clothing styles. Skinhead fashions have evolved since the formation of the subculture in the 1960s, and certain clothing styles have been more prevalent in specific locations and time periods».

Keeping traditions will always make this brand special.

Rude and Classy. So British.

(This is England, 2006)

The collaboration of two Scott-burned bands is doomed to success.

The Scottish kinship, colour palette and graphic pattern are all key elements to the collaboration’s success and fundamental core components of both brands’ DNAs.

"Carolyn Massey is a great new talent that I feel will become established in the London menswear movement, that has been growing over the last couple of years."
- Matthew Murphy B STORE.

(Brief information about a head designer).

Carolyn Massey, a London-based British menswear designer, completed her MA at the Royal College of Art in June 2005. Due to 'frustation, boredom, and demand',
Massey launched her eponymous label in June 2006 in Paris,
having completed her MA just twelve months before.

(Interview with the head designer of the Lyle and Scott Carolyn Massey,
Asking about inspiration, British style and the reason of collaboration).

The hero piece of the collection is a bold, primary colour, striped intarsia constructed from the sports yarn, polypropylene, which is plated with 100% cotton for comfort. This combination of colour, yarn and technique contributes to the overall sport luxe aesthetic and refined finish of the full collection. The rest of the collection comprises of Italian-made fine merino wool mid layers, newly added bomber jackets, polyamide jumpers and knitted polo shirts with contrast collars. The footwear and t-shirts stand out with an all over applied paint splatter print, an eye-catching contrast against the block colour apparel.

Illustrations were made by Craig and Karl for the launch of the new collaboration collection at London Collections: Men. www.craigandkarl.com

Like last season each garment is branded on the chest by one of four different coloured eagles that reference the collections main palette.

The price point is slightly higher than that of the Lyle & Scott mainline collection
and is limited to an international, niche distribution.

Art and traditions,

«Honestly mate, you look sterling».

As a piece for I-D I want it to be more about the atmosphere and the creation process,
not about “buying and selling”.
